    It is quite amusing to see the signboards on the southern side of the Thoraipakkam Pallavaram radial road with the sign stating "Litter free " whereas just across the same road on the northern side the same local authorities should have put up a sign stating "Free Litter Zone" because there are hillocks of all kinds of smelling,rotten garbage which is more then 20 feet high.I wish the union minister Mr T.R.Baalu (whose constituancy this area falls under)would take a few minutes of his time and see for himself the unhealthy conditions prevailing in this area which is leading to several residents in the adjacant colonies to suffer from all kinds of diseases and infections.

    FROM THE INDIAN HISTORY - Thandam means the weapon used by Lord Yamah. When Yamah was about to kill Markkandeya, he put the rope to the neck of Maarkkandeya, as Maarkkandeya was holding Lord Shiva, it fall on shiva. Lord shiva got angry, so the Thandam fell on this place. Latter Lord Yamah did pooja and got back his Thandam. So this place is called Thandeeswarar. (named after Lord Shiva). This kulam-pond is the place where he got back thandam.
