Vaitheeswaran Koil near Sirkali/ Mayuram is famous to cure diseases.

Thayal Nayagi Udanurai Vaitheesaran Koil. It is the Sevvai @ Angaraka (Mars)Kshetram of the Navagraha temples around Chennai. Here the temple has a separate Sevvai Padam (legs)and 3 Chakrams which were established here by the Adi Shankara (Sri Chakram, Subramania Chakram, Shanmuga Chakram) near the Subramania Swami Sannidhi.

VELLISWARAR TEMPLE: It is believed that those who have eye ailments will surely get cured by worshipping the lord here.The Shiva Linga (Vellieeswarar) here was worshipped by the Parvathi in penance seen at Maangadu Amman temple itself. The story goes beyond as Vishnu who solemnized the marriage of Shiva-Parvathi thereafter, also has a near by temple here. This Vishnu carries the jewels for the marriage in his hands! All the three temples are near by (Vellieeswarar, Maangadu Amman, Vishnu). It is said that Sukra worshipped the Lingam here. It is considered the Sukra (Venus) sthalam of the Navagraha temples around Chennai

Murugan has only two wives. It's funny to say 'two of his wives' and looks as if he has plenty of wives. This itself is being taken as an example by our Tamil people to have two wives. If he had more than two, Tamilnadu cannot stand.

I passed my PUC exams here in 1968. It was only one year PUC at that time. We used to stare at the planes taking off and landing at the airport nearby at that time. Passing PUC was the turning point for me. I joined College of Engineering , Guindy after this. I could never visit this college after this. This is a great college. Best wishes for everybody in this college.

I did my high schooling here and passed SSLC in 1967. Those time this is the only school in the 3 km range and bous used to come from Avadi, Sevvapet etc. Except for the 11th Std all the classes are in sheds with hatchet roof and sand flooring. We used to very happy and enjoyed our stay. I could never visit this school after I left in 1967. Do anyone remember me. Please contact me shantharam_01@sify.com

I studied in Singaram Pillai High School some where very close to this temple in the year 1959- 64. This place was a small village at that time. Is this school still existing. I had two best friends one Santhanam living close here and one Vivekananda from Avadi. I would like to here from them. I now live in Bangalore
